Why We Need Teacher Leaders

The problems facing public education are too big and complicated for the Principal alone to solve. The Principal needs help. Fortunately, there is in every school a cadre of knowledgeable professionals who are already dedicated to the educations of students. Classroom teachers know their students and the problems the school faces because they are in the trenches every day. If public education is going to prepare our students for the challenges awaiting them in college, the workplace, and life in the twenty-first century, teachers must take an active leadership role.

This blog will not pretend to be the voice of authority, nor will I tell you what you should be doing. Instead, it will chronicle some of my thoughts, observations, experiences, reflections, and information I have gathered on my journey to become a Teacher Leader. Please feel free to comment on my posting and share some of your own thoughts and experiences. Together we can make a difference.
